Vergia Thalman Scott, 93, of Lindon passed away Tuesday March 31, 2015 at her home. She was born May 7, 1921 in Vermillion, Utah to Albert Verg and Esther Jensen Thalman. She married LaMar Dellwood Scott on October 23, 1942 in Vermillion, Sevier County, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.\n\nVergia grew up in the Vermillion and graduated from Richfield High School in 1939. She applied for and was accepted into LDS Hospital Nurses Training and graduated in 1942. Vergia and LaMar met on a blind date in the 1941. In 1950 Vergia and LaMar moved to Lindon and raised their nine children. She worked at American Fork Hospital and retired in 1983. Vergia enjoyed knitted, reading, cooking, family and friends.\n\nShe is survived by her children: Del (Darlene) Scott, Verla Legeman, Lane (Pam) Scott, Margia (Pat) Flaa, Jes (Claire) Scott, LaDee Scott, Verg (Melody) Scott, Giala (Jay) Murdoch; 34 grandchildren, 70+ great grandchildren, and 3+ great great grandchildren; sister, Creta Robinson and sister-in-law, Lael Thalman. Vergia is preceded in death by her husband LaMar; two children: infant daughter, Mikan and son, Cris; son-in-law, Michael Legeman, parents, Verg and Esther; three siblings, brothers: Melvin, Mack, and infant sister, Elsie.\n\nFuneral services will be held Monday, April 6, at 11:00 am in the Lindon Fourteenth Ward Chapel, 320 West 500 North, Lindon. Family and friends may attend a viewing at 10 am prior to the funeral. There will be no Sunday night viewing. Interment will be in the Vermillion Cemetery in Sigurd, Utah at 4:00 pm.
