Virginia Jane Peterson Phillips, 92, of American Fork, long- time Pleasant Grove resident, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015. Virginia was born April 23, 1922 in Lehi, Utah to LeRoy James and Verda Lucille Lewis Peterson. She married Wayne Reed Phillips on February 10, 1942. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.\n\nShe grew up in Lehi and graduated from Lehi High School in 1940. She worked for much of her married life as a lunch lady at Central Elementary and Pleasant Grove Junior High School. She enjoyed bowling and participated in the leagues at Jack and Jill. Her favorite memories were the times spent at the family camp at Strawberry and riding horses in the foothills of Pleasant Grove. She and Wayne enjoyed traveling together to rodeos and even drove the Alaska Highway.\n\nVirginia is survived by her two sons; Randy (Sandy) Phillips, Lehi, Rick (Darla) Phillips, Pleasant Grove and daughter-in-law, Lucille Phillips, Lehi, 15 grandchildren and many loving great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Three siblings: Alice Webb, Hurricane, Lois (Lee) Hampton, Lehi and Buzz (Tammy) Peterson, Mesquite, NV. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Phillips; son, Larry Phillips and grandson, Casey Phillips.\n\nGraveside services will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 12:00 Noon in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery, 600 North 100 East, Pleasant Grove. Family and friends may attend a visitation from 10:30 - 11:30 am at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove prior to the graveside services.\n\nCondolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
