Warren Dale Johnson, 73 passed away peacefully at his home in Lehi, Utah on Friday, September 15, 2017. Dale was born on January 5, 1944 in Reno, Nevada to Warren Ethridge Johnson and Doris Christensen Johnson. He grew up mostly in Hawthorne, Nevada and graduated from Mineral County High School. He later attended the University of Nevada, Reno, where he earned a degree in mathematics and completed coursework in Education as well.\n\nDuring his time in Reno, he married Dolores "Dee" M. Gall of Reno and were sealed in the Oakland, California Temple. They settled down in Carson City, Nevada and raised a family. Dale made sure his family was happy and learned the important lessons in life such as how to serve others. He lived to make sure others were cared for and comforted, especially his children.\n\nDale worked for the State of Nevada for most of his career developing database systems. He had a love of photography and spent many weekends taking wedding photographs and photographs for local youth baseball and soccer teams. He involved the family in taking these photographs, teaching his children how to work and interact with people. With his love of teaching, he would often teach photography and computer programming courses at the community college in Carson City.\n\nWhen his children began to start families of their own in Utah, Dale and Dee moved to Lehi to be close to them and their children. Dale was an amazing grandpa! He loved to do art projects with his grandchildren, attend their special events, and be a part of their lives. They visited him often and all felt his incredible love for them.\n\nWith his love of teaching still present, Dale also spent a few years as a substitute teacher in the Alpine School district after he moved to Utah. Many students at Lehi High School got to know him well and loved having him in the classroom.\n\nDale served as a temple worker in the Mount Timpanogos Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He treasured those years and loved the experiences he had with the Spirit while serving the Lord.\n\nAs Dale passed, he was blessed to be reunited with his eldest daughter, Megan, and his eldest son, Michael, as well as his loving parents and other beloved family members. He is survived by his wife, Dee; his sons, Nicolas (Wendy) of Cedar Hills, Ryan (Jessica) of Lehi, and Nathan of Provo; his brothers, David (Terresa) and Tom (Brenda); and eleven grandchildren.\n\nFuneral services will be held Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Cedar Hollow 3rd Ward Chapel, 2178 North 1200 East, Lehi, Utah. A viewing for friends and family will take place from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. prior to the services.
