Paul was born April 6, 1938, in Lindon, Utah to Wendell and Lillian Wright Swenson. He married Verlene Christiansen on April 19, 1956, in Lindon, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Paul was a hard worker throughout his life. He worked at Geneva Steel for many years and later for Alpine School District. He loved riding horses and enjoyed the outdoors. His most fond memories were of outings at Strawberry and Red Sand Ranch with family and friends.

Mark was born on July 21, 1961, in Fort Ord, California, to Otis and Elizabeth May Motsinger. The youngest of five brothers—Steven, David, Charles, and John—Mark grew up in American Fork and graduated from American Fork High School in 1979.
